About the Artist continued.........

My work is ill at ease with Britains contemporary Art scene, my ethics more akin to the Pop Surrealism/Lowbrow scene in America. Following a 'Burlesque Hot Rod' commission in late 2009, I was inspired to explore one of my deepest passions for Americana and Classic/Custom cars. The early ideas for 2010 present the flourishing Hot Rod culture arm in arm with the Cold War era, brooding possible Atomic annihilation at any moment, a juxtaposition of the diametric excess of human creativity. Despite most of my creative drive being firmly rooted in seemingly morbid introspection, I'm immensely gratified to have lived off my art for the last 20 years, knowing others are happy to consume my daydreams.
My artistic intentions are to draw the viewer into a state of reverie, bathed in atmosphere and symbolism that nods to my favorite quote and inner mantra,- 'Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable'.
